Ripples EFP is a mental health service run by Jan Stiff, an integrative counsellor, based just outside of Newbury town centre in Berkshire.
Therapy sessions take place outside/ in the surrounds of a small herd of horses; with the added benefit of being immersed in nature and all it has to offer – wildlife, fresh air, space, and sense of freedom that helps to provide an additional sense of calm.
Through structured sessions, clients are offered a chance to develop self-awareness and confidence through the unique partnership that is offered by being in the presence of horses: Horses possess an innate ability to be empathetic and forgiving – living in present moment and possessing a natural ability to sense and mirror human emotions. Clients who experience personal insights from horses, are likely to acquire positive and long-lasting changes.
Jan aims to offer each client an individual experience that meets their personal psychological needs through harnessing and working with this unique awareness offered by horses.
